Aunt Flossie's quilt

This is one of the first quilt tops that I quilted. The top was made by my mother's Aunt Flossie Watkins. I hand quilted it in Aunt Flossie's quilt frames in the dining room of our big house on Simcoe Street.  It was made from scraps of fabric from my mother's sewing basket. She used every tiny bit of fabric she could. If a piece was not big enough to make a log, she pieced one together. Thrifty! I recognise some of the fabrics from different projects around the house. I have a picture somewhere of my younger sister wearing a dress made out of the polka dot fabric.

Home from the Creative Festival

I had a great weekend. I volunteered at the Creative Festival in Toronto this weekend. I stayed with a friend and got to know a little about the transportation system. I missed a couple of connections and forgot to check out the Sunday bus schedule but it was a lot of fun. Hoping that I will be invited again. I stood at the door and greeted people as they entered the mall. Not a hard job at all and I got to see a lot of exciting garments.
